Japan Trip 2001 - Week 2

Day05: 12/24/2000
----- Christmas Eve -----

I am not really a Christian, but I went to a church where I used to go sunday school in my hometown. Once in two years, may be a should thank for Jesus... Everybody I met thinks that I gained weigh. Oops. So I went to swim for the first time since I came back to Nagoya. There is a sports center just about 20 minutes by walking. That wasn't there when I came home two years ago. The building looks like the stadium build for our hometown baseball team, but a lot smaller. I got to swim for about a mile, but the water temperature was 30C (86F). That water gave me hard time. I helped my brother's frontcrawl too...

Day06: 12/25/2000
----- Christmas -----

Merry Christmas! In Japan, today is not a holiday. I went to a bookstore to buy some books I wanted. The store I went today is a common one in Nagoya, so I found the books I wanted, but not all of them. However, I can still look other places as necessary.
I bought a round ticket to Osaka also. Since I am a poor student, I have to take the cheapest method to go there. It is not really a fun. I was hoping that I will have a chance to see the newest bullet train here. but I can't. If I have free time I will try to take a picture of them sometime when I am going to Osaka.

We had snow for the first time in this year in Nagoya. I was quite excited, but it is too cold to go outside. As mater of fact, I didn't go anywhere,

I went to get my hair cut today. This afternoon, I hang out with my friends from high school, Koji and Hideki. We played some games and ate dinner together.
An outside view from my friend's apartment.
A game with motion sensors, you need to take cover by sitting or moving...
A flight simulator. You get to fly Boeing 777 or 747.
The dinner was "yakiniku". You take raw meet and burn it on a grill.

Day11: 12/29/2000

I helped my family cleaning up until noon. We call it "OOSOUJI", means a big clean up. Traditionally, we clean the house before the new year comes. In the evening, I met with my friends from junior high school. We drunk (and drove...) then played bowling.
There is nothing to hide, we all fought a lot... I guess

We had fun! and hope to see you all of you again someday!

Well, I think I got headache due to the party last night. I just had two glasses (about 20oz each) of beer. Maybe I was tired. Back to Top

Day13: 12/31/2000
---- OH-TSUGOMORI or New Year's Eve ----

I helped my family again, I think the house is pretty clean now.
We had a wheat noodle soup in the noon, traditionally, we have this at the end of the day, but this year we had it as lunch...
