地主のHenry B. Shiner氏が1887年にひかれたSan Antonio and Aransas Pass鉄道の線路付近の土地を提供し、駅と町ができました。 ドイツ人とチェコ人の移民が当時から多く、ビール工場があると納得します。(2014年11月訪問)
